Our client are recruiting an O&M EC&I (Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation) Technician to work with their Operation & Maintenance (O&M) team on site in Slough.
You will install, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, control circuits and equipment related to processes. Supporting the entire facility operation, you will maintain the operation of the entire plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs skilled electrical and technical work, including testing, inspection and repair of complex mechanical, pneumatic and electronic instruments within the process systems and equipment
Installs, maintains performs PM’s, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and other instrumentation and analyzers. Installs, repairs and maintains all power transmission lines, transformers, electrical motors, instruments, controls and related equipment
Maintains, inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs instrumentation of all types of equipment, including but not limited to generators, AC and DC motors, MOV’s, turbine controls, DC systems, and all other plant related auxiliaries
Maintains accurate detailed records concerning installation, preventive maintenance and repair of all plant instrumentation equipment. Keeps all blueprints and OEM manuals in neat and proper order
Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of instrument application, operation of the electrical and mechanical principles involved in repair, testing and calibration. Maintains alarms and automatic shutdown systems activated by one or more process variables. PLC and DCS knowledge will be necessary to be able to troubleshoot and analyze logic circuitry, along with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuitry.
Qualifications:
Recognised engineering apprenticeship
IOSH Managing Safely
HNC/D qualification in engineering desirable
Circa 5+ years experience as an instrumentation, control and automation technician ideally in a similar industry
Conversant with HSE standards, procedures and requirements and control plant operations in a safe and efficient manner
Advanced knowledge in repair and calibration of transmitters, analyzers, and scales
Familiarity with DC and other emergency systems
PLC and DCS understanding and experience.
