NRL are currently recruiting on behalf of our nuclear focused client, who are delivering client critical works to some of their major UK and European Projects, including nuclear new builds. This role is permanent/staff and is to be based out of Bristol.

Please note that for this role, you will need to be able to obtain BPSS level of clearance, meaning you have lived and worked in the UK for the past 3 years.

About the role:
Working in both client facing and internal roles they are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. They are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Our client are currently seeking a number of Steelwork Engineers who will be producing steelwork platform designs compliant with Eurocode3, ETC-C and liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design. Key responsibilities will be:
  • Maintaining clients QA procedures in delivering the SW design
  • Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models
  • Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures
  • Resolving identified technical issues
  • Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data
  • Produces the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes)
  • Coordinate CAD Design and perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete
  • Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents 
What you will need:
  • Knowledge/understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and especially knowledge of the design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete
  • Knowledge of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures
  • Design of seismically classified steel platforms and structures from concept to detailed design delivery
  • Use of 3D modelling and structural analysis tools
  • Knowledge / Understanding of PWRs would be an advantage
  • An understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous
