Senior Technical Services Manager
Location: Flexible location, preferably North of England (Travel Across UK is required)
We are looking for a Senior Technical Services Manager to join our team in Wakefield on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week
The Senior Technical Services Manager will report directly to the Account Director. You will lead, motivate, support, and provide direct guidance to the Site Facilities Managers, Supervisors and operatives in providing the technical service delivery across all the CCEP sites across the UK.
Ensure delivery of effective and efficient maintenance services encompassing mechanical, electrical, building fabric and small project management. Core elements will include management of the National Electrical Testing and Inspection Team, Health & Safety, communication between the internal technical team and client contacts on day-to-day activities, owning statutory and mandatory compliance.
The role holder will support in the procurement, setting to work and monitoring of key service providers, ensuring inspections, maintenance, testing, verification and repairs are carried out to the correct standard and corrective actions are raised and completion documentation received and verified in accordance with statutory and regulatory compliance.
What will you deliver?
Provide assurance of contractual and statutory compliance, identifying areas of technical risk, and ensuring these are highlighted and solutions sought and train our staff in compliance management best practices.
Ensure defined policy and procedures are adopted by the business, to evidence compliance with all engineering standards including Legislation, ACOP, British, European and International Standards and industry best practice inc SFG20.
To work closely with operational and other business teams to put in place the appropriate standards, systems, processes and ways of working, to deliver excellence in all engineering disciplines.
Ensure Equans safe systems of work, in line with contract specification and recognised codes of practice and carry out the duties of Authorised Person, as designated, in accordance with Company standards for the multiple systems designated to you (following training, assessment and formal appointment)
Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients and Company health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented across both Equans and subcontractors’ activities and are regularly reviewed.
Manage compliance and ensure it is fully up to date from respective Facilities Managers/supervisors.
Manage and oversee external sub-contractors and professionals following company contractor management processes
Ensuring that contractor and the in-house engineering team are competence checked and they are appointed as Competent Persons.
Develop and maintain close relationships and liaison with internal/external stakeholders, i.e. Facilities and Utilities Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, Senior Operations manager, site delivery team
To always observe statutory and other relevant requirements, in particular those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH Regulations and Electrical IEE regulations, PSSR and H&S Guidance notes.
To carry out any other such reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post as may be required
Supporting FM’s interface between client communications and providing Technical/ contractual backup.
Working with direct reports to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective teamworking, and support to colleagues. – Ensure safe systems of work are in place and always used.
Ensure that the contract delivery team has sufficient appointed persons to undertake works as per Equans Safety Rules
Undertake AP/RP positions/duties such as L8, Pressure Systems. LV/HV – Ensure adherence to all Statutory Standards and Regulations.
Ensure that staff performance is managed as required through for example, performance appraisals, disciplinary proceedings, and grievances.
Proactively identify and manage the professional development and training needs of the technical staff.
Produce technical reports and evidence as required for assurance and auditing
Who are we looking for?
Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship
HNC/ONC/C&G or equivalent in relevant mechanical/electrical/building engineering discipline.
Proven management experience of Hard FM teams.
Knowledge and understanding of SFG Specifications, British Standards.
Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety. Preferably have IOSH or above.
Ability to measure, works to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.
The role holder will demonstrate leadership, flexibility, and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with other team members and clients.
Sound general knowledge and understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Safety systems
Expertise in Electrical / Mechanical and Legionella Control disciplines.
Good knowledge of general compliance in Facilities Management.
Experience working in a highly competent, multi discipline engineering team.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and other Office365 Products etc.) Understanding of Written Schemes of Examination
