Job Title: Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to handle both pre and post-contract duties across various sectors. The ideal candidate will work independently or as part of a team, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Contract:
Prepare capital cost estimates
Assist in tendering procedures and contract arrangements
Develop pricing documents for tender packages
Advise on tendering procedures and draft instructions
Create tender evaluation criteria and PQQ questionnaires
Handle queries and evaluate tender submissions
Negotiate with tenders
Post-Contract:
Manage commercial aspects of projects, reporting to the Commercial Manager
Prepare interim valuations and monthly cost reports
Conduct client and contractor meetings
Negotiate and agree on variations and final accounts
Review and assess contract claims
Ideal Candidate:
Degree in Quantity Surveying
Team player with strong collaboration skills
Experience in the construction industry
Commercially aware, flexible, and ambitious
Driven to manage budgets and ensure project success
Efficient and goal-oriented
