Job Introduction

Our client is seeking a Package Manager for a short-term contract to oversee the installation, completion, and handover of firestopping equipment on a large residential development in Olympia, London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong working relationships with key subcontractors to ensure work is completed correctly the first time. Balance the needs of the organization with the capabilities and capacity of the supply chain to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Foster trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer subcontract packages related to the installation of fire protection throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Ensure safety is effectively managed throughout the contract lifecycle, setting clear expectations for your team and challenging them when necessary.
  • Ensure details are tested and certified in line with industry requirements.
  • Share learnings from your package of works between assets to ensure continuous improvement and enhance our value offering.
  • Engage with in-house and subcontract technical teams to obtain specialist support for technical challenges.
  • Maintain contemporaneous records. Proactively manage risks and opportunities within the subcontract scope. Ensure Delivery Managers are fully conversant with the scope of works and supply chain attendances to manage changes effectively.
  • Provide weekly reports on the status of your subcontract packages.
The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Suitable building/civil engineering technical qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Experience working on large, complex residential and commercial projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • Experience with handovers.
  • Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS).
Desirable:

  • Experience testing fire protection details.
  • Experience managing Fire Protection Packages (e.g., Fire Stopping and Structural Fire Protection).
