Responsibilities & Duties:
- Spend 80% of your time on-site, serving as the primary point of contact for contractors regarding occupational health and environmental concerns
- Perform occupational and environmental monitoring, including air quality, noise, vibration, and dust sampling
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain monitoring equipment to ensure accurate data collection
- Assist in conducting weld fume monitoring and implementing control measures for fumes and dust
- Support compliance with COSHH regulations by assessing and monitoring hazardous substances
- Conduct routine inspections to verify adherence to site standards and legal requirements
- Provide technical support in implementing exposure control strategies and ensuring proper use of PPE/RPE
- Collect and analyse data to identify trends and generate detailed reports for the management team
- Support the delivery of toolbox talks and training sessions on environmental and occupational health topics
- Assist in the investigation of incidents, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Maintain accurate records of monitoring activities, inspections, and incident responses
- Collaborate with contractors, project teams, and external stakeholders to maintain high environmental and health standards
You will need: -
- STEM or related qualification (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or Engineering)
- Occupational Health M500 series modules are preferable, with training available for the right candidate
- Experience in environmental or occupational health monitoring (e.g., noise, dust, air quality)
- Familiarity with COSHH and other UK regulations relating to health and environmental compliance
- Strong technical aptitude with experience in calibrating and maintaining monitoring equipment
- Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce reports
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support training and collaboration with teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively
- Experience in construction environments is desirable
