We are looking to hire an Operation and Maintenance Shift Team Leader for our clients Waste to Energy (WtE) plant in Slough. This is a full time permanent position with competitve salaries and benefits. There hasn't been a more exciting time to join this client as this is a new and expanding team and a crucial part of the project work.

The Operation & Maintenance Shift Team Leader, will ensure the facility meets safety, environmental, production, and contractual requirements, while overseeing all operations and maintenance.


Main responsibilities are:

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation.

  • Supervise and manage shift operations, including overseeing operators and support personnel to ensure continuous process system performance.

  • Ensure all shift employees are properly trained, follow operating procedures, and maintain safe and effective work practices.

  • Maintain safety programs, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure employee understanding of safety policies and procedures.

  • Manage shift logs, oversee plant maintenance, handle event-based reporting, and provide performance reviews for operators. Additionally, represent senior management during off-hours.

Qualifications:

  • Solid experience working on an Energy from Waste plant (preferably at Shift Team Leader level)

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (or higher) 

  • Strong understanding of HSE standards, procedures, and requirements, with the ability to control plant operations safely and efficiently. Should also be knowledgeable in equipment interlocks, alarms, trips, and the response of plant control loops.

  • Other skills: accountability, very good problem solving skill and good decision making   also in emergency cases, ability to act as a team leader
