Highway Engineer (Asset Management)

Working with a high performing local authority by continually putting the needs of its residents at the centre of everything it does. NRL are looking for a dedicated Highway Engineer. The role is for an initial 3-6 months in the Hook area.
About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing highway maintenance and minor improvement schemes. Key duties include providing technical input during construction, managing resources, preparing estimates, monitoring budgets, and liaising with various stakeholders. You will also represent the County Council at public meetings, support technical staff, communicate with colleagues and contractors in a challenging environment and assist with achieving business plan objectives.
What you will need:
RQF Level 4 or Degree level qualification in a relevant field
Incorporated engineer with a relevant body or equivalent experience
Good knowledge of relevant highway design standards and procedures
Experience in the design, management and supervision of highway maintenance works
An appreciation of contract procedures, preferably with the NEC Team Service Contract
Driving licence
Ability to fulfil travels requirements with some working out of hours dependant on emergencies/weather
