On behalf of our client, NRL Recruitment are looking for a Street Lighting Engineer for work in the Winchester area.
Duration: contract until 30.03.2025
Start: ASAP
Location: Winchester/Hybrid/Site
Rate: Negotiable PAYE or Umbrella hourly rate
Hours: F/T
Role is to provide reports and designs for the street lighting elements of highway and transport developments across the county and assist with the supervision of construction activities.
Role Summary:
As part of this role, the candidate should expect to carry out work within the following areas:
Proposing solutions and preparing technical studies, reports and designs for the street lighting elements of highway and transport developments.
Preparing estimates, monitor and review project costs to ensure completion with agreed budgets.
Preparing contract specifications, policies and procedures, on me, to budget.
To provide technical input throughout construction period.
Assist with the supervision of construction works.
Liaise with project Client, project team, internal/external consultants and general public.
Give due consideration to health and safety, equalities and sustainability in design solutions and working practices.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
RQF level 4 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (or other relevant field)
Minimum of AMILP (Associate Member of Institute of Lighting Professionals)
Design and construction experience of Street Lighting for highway, highway structures or related projects.
Communication skills able to converse with engineering professionals
Decision Making Areas:
Feasibility assessment
Recommendations to clients
Risk assessments
Provide solution to design and construction issues
Assessing installed lighting equipment to check compliance with relevant standards / specification
Working Conditions:
Hybrid working (mixture of working at home and in the office), with frequent visits to live sites.
Significant requirement for lone working on live highway and construction sites
Communicating with stakeholders in a challenging environment
Ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role
