Location: Remote working possible with regular visits to the Head Office (min 1 day per week) – Stockton-on-Tees
We are looking for an experienced controls engineer to lead the development of their data visualisation platform, improve CHiPCoB on-site controls product and to help bring our online power generation asset management products to the market.
The role will also involve providing controls and electrical support to the existing operational assets and mentoring the younger engineers within our small team.
Job Scope:
Key areas of responsibility
- Configuring and development cloud based SCADA capability
- Develop and update PLC software for remote deployment
- Advise and lead on the improvement of IT infrastructure across the business and customer power generation sites
- Support the business on general electrical, control and communications issues
Day-to-day duties of the position
- Ensure all currently deployed control systems are working correctly and resolving any problems that arise
- Coordinate the development work carried out by junior controls engineers within the team
- Visit sites to resolve problems when required
Skills and Competencies Required for the Role
- Self-motivated and Independent worker
- PLC programming with knowledge of communications protocols
- SCADA configuration and set up
- Excellent IT and networking knowledge
- Dealing with a number of different projects simultaneously
- Good HSE attitude
Experience on the following is desired:
- MQTT
- AWS
- Siemens S7 PLC’s and programming environments
- Ability to analyse and modify software
Qualifications Required
- Relevant Engineering qualification – Degree level

- £45-55k salary dependant on experience

- This job would require mobility to get to various project sites so a full UK driving license is required and preferably a car
- We are a flexible working organisation, which would allow mutual pragmatic approach to working patterns, but may also include occasional out of normal hours working.
- Remote working is possible but there is an expectation that the candidate will visit our main office in Teesside at least once per week.
