NRL have an exciting opportunity to work with one of our clients who specialise in design, supply, installation, testing & maintenance of standby power systems & energy solutions. The role is for a Gas Engine Generator Technician to be based in Scotland and will be offered on a permanent basis.

Key Skills and experience
  • Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of CHP gas power generation systems.
  • Multi Gas engine power plant experience.
  • Experience with specific Gas Engine products – Siemens Gauscor M.W.M – M.A.N.- PSI/Ford
  • CHP – Commissioning of controls, flows and pressures.
  • Mechanical Overhaul experience
  • Modification of control systems
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics of control systems
  • Clean Driving Licence
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in the daily operation of CHP gas power generation systems, monitoring performance and ensuring optimal efficiency.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on CHP equipment, and associated systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform performance testing and analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to ensure seamless integration of CHP systems with other plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, operational data, and performance reports.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and environmental guidelines, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in CHP gas power generation.
  • Assistance in Generator Installation phase.
  • Mentor and develop young engineers
  • Cost effectively manage maintenance spares.
  • Coordinate service scheduling across multiple sites.
  • Maintain good customer relationships with clients and other contractors whilst working on sites
