I am recruiting for an Asset Protection Engineer to undertake Project Engineering services on behalf of NR ASPRO team and Architectural Assurance of Building and Civil Engineering works. Hybrid role, 12 month contract, hourly rate based on experience and suitability.

  • Asset Protection is responsible for supporting external parties' activities whilst ensuring the safety and reliability of the operational railway.

  • Role to be based out of NR Stratford office 3 days per week with remaining time working from home.

  • Civil Project Engineering duties as defined under standard NR/L2/RSE/02009

  • Undertake Project Engineering services on behalf of NR ASPRO team to NR/L2/CIV/003 Engineering and Architectural Assurance of Building and Civil Engineering works.

  • Must have previous experience of doing NR Civils PE role and be signed off under 02009 standard (evidence in Quads matrix) 

Key activities:

  • Undertake revies of design and construction activities including decommissioning and demolition activities to relevant standards and legislation

  • Conduct on site engineering verifications

  • Lead the engineering consultation between project team, client/customer, designer/contractor and Route Engineers

  • Respond via NR/L2/RSE/02009/F044 DRN process with acceptance / rejection

  • Apply engineering judgement in determining assurance levels

  • Evaluate construction methods

  • Support commissioning/entry into service



Each activity aligns engineering management practices with elements of legislative instruments, including Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015, Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluations and Assessment Regulations and Railway Interoperability Regulations 2011
