Job Title: TPL Mechanic

Location: Visp, Switzerland

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced TPL (Technical Project Lead) Mechanic to join our team for an exciting project in the pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical aspects of project design, implementation, and maintenance to ensure efficient and compliant production processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to Lonza's technical standards.
  • Participate in safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and update user requirement specifications (URS) and technical specifications (TS).
  • Perform line sizing calculations, restriction orifice sizing, and develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Generate and maintain process data sheets and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the technical team during design phases, FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), SATs (Site Acceptance Tests), and commissioning.
  • Ensure successful installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ) of mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems during the operational phase.
  • Continuously improve mechanical processes and procedures in compliance with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality requirements.

Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering and project management, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech company.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chillers, and other utilities.
  • Proficiency in developing and interpreting P&IDs and process data sheets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GMP compliance requirements is preferred.
