Our client has a new STAFF opportunity for a Specialist Machinist

NRL’s manufacturing client based in Renfrew are looking to recruit a Specialist Machinist to join them on a permanent staff basis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of department bespoke equipment

  • The candidate will be required to support the conclusion of unplanned technical challenges that may occur during the on-site delivery of the products.

  • To provide technical support in the field of Specialist Machining to support the continued growth and development of our client's Valve Refurbishment and Cross Fleet Tube Plugging and On-Site Machining products assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of department bespoke equipment

What will you need?

  • Must have a recognised qualification such as SVQ/ City and Guilds in Engineering or similar,

  • Must have a minimum 4 years’ experience in similar or transferable role.

  • Time Served Machinists preferred (However, qualifications may be replaced by proven track record and applicable experience in a similar role)

  • Technician to have a technical competence (on conclusion of training) in the operation of the following equipment: Cross Fleet Tube Plugging Equipment, Valve Seat Replacement Equipment and General & Bespoke Machining Equipment. You will have an appreciation or welding techniques and have a basic Commercial Awareness particularly relating to change management.

  • A key element of this role is extended and short notice site delivery requirements. Therefore, a willingness to upskill and a desire to travel to our various customer sites often at short notice is requirement of the position.
