NRL are currently recruiting for a Senior Expeditor to join their project delivery team in one of their UK Engineering Consultancy clients on a 18 month contract basis approximately. 

The Expeditor will be responsible for the expediting of purchase orders to ensure the delivery of material’s, supplies and equipment meet project requirement deadlines and demands.  The role will include following project expediting procedures, strategies and reporting processes. 

The Expeditor will be expected to expedite both material and documentation requirements in line with production schedules and report updates via the expediting report and weekly expediting calls. 

Administer the expediting process for assigned projects; including planning, development and administration in support of projects or other operating requirements.  

Key activities include the following: 

  • Lead Post PO award Kick off Meetings. 

  • Maintain a good working relationship with suppliers and project team. 

  • Expedite purchase orders and liaise with vendors including leading weekly supplier calls. 

  • Review and interpret production plans/schedules, validating status of sub orders and negotiate delivery improvements / slippage recovery plans. 

  • Update procurement system with material updates and forecast delivery date changes. 

  • Issue weekly expediting progress reports and attend weekly expediting calls. 

  • Participate in material, procurement and planning meetings. 

  • Work with the Quality team to ensure required inspection activities are met and obtaining inspection notifications. 

  • Expedite progress on supplier documentation internally and externally. 

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.   

  • Extensive relevant experience. 

  • Strong understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field.  Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. 

  • Knowledge of suppliers, manufacturing schedules and expediting. 

  • Leadership Skills.
