About the role:
NRL are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading client in the Transmission and Distribution sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work for the principal contractor on various substation projects.
We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience of applying and developing subcontracts using the NEC3 or NEC4 (Options A & C) within the power sector or relevant industry, and who can provide key cost and contract analysis at framework and project levels.
Main duties and responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor include the following:
- Managing cost estimates, budgets and financial reporting
- Identify and mitigate risks related to costs and schedules
- Ensure cash flow is optimised
- Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders and engineers to ensure successful project delivery
- Generating financial reports, progress updates and forecasts
- Support with the development of junior team
- Utilise NEC 3 or NEC 4 forms of contract
- Prepare and manage subcontracts throughout the project
What you need:
- BSc or HNC (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or similar subject
- Previous experience with substation projects/Transmission and Distribution
- Strong knowledge of NEC 3 and NEC 4 (Options A & C)
- Ability to read and understand a project programmes
- Computer literacy and experience with MS office suites
Additional information:
- Hybrid role working 2-3 days a week from the Motherwell office
- Working hours are 40 a week, Monday to Friday
- Some travel to sites in the UK will be required
- Outside IR35 £450 - £550 a day
