Job Title: Pipe Fitter
Location: Heysham
NRL are currently seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to support our client's maintenance of steam turbines, generators, auxiliary, and associated plant across various sites in the UK. This unique role offers the opportunity to work within a team dedicated to delivering safe, reliable power at the heart of our client's Generation Business. While your base location will be Heysham 2 Power Station, some travel to other locations may be required.
Nuclear CTC clearance will be required, if you do not already hold this, we will be able to assist in the processing of this.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete maintenance records in a timely manner to support work week plans, outage plans, and the business plan.
Drive performance improvement by supporting key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuously learning from previous tasks.
Report safety, environmental, and plant issues promptly, using the correct tools and acknowledging errors, while seeking help when needed.
Work as part of a team to meet industry best practice standards, maintaining high levels of nuclear professionalism.
Participate in setting to work, pre-job briefs, and apply Human Performance tools.
Ensure strict compliance with site license requirements, statutory regulations, company policies, and safety rules.
Fabricate pipework in carbon and stainless steel to the required standard, setting up for welding.
Install and secure piping according to specifications, including small bore Swagelok and Walform.
Remove and replace hydraulic systems and couplings for high-pressure applications.
Assist the Operations team with additional tasks during downtime from pipe fitting.
Who You Are:
A completed apprenticeship in a relevant or related trade, or a vocational qualification at Level 3 (NVQ/QCF/RQF) from a recognized awarding body (e.g., ECITB/EAL).
A minimum of 2 years' experience post-apprenticeship.
Training will be provided for Swagelok and Walform systems, if required.
Strong commitment to safety and professionalism, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
