Job Title: Mechanical QC Inspector
Location: Thatcham, UK
Job Type: Full-time (4 days per week, 10-hour days with flexibility)
Security Clearance: Must have or be willing to obtain SC clearance
Duration: Initial 12 month contract 

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mechanical QC Inspector to join our clients team in Thatcham. This role offers a flexible work schedule, allowing you to work four 10-hour days per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform welding inspections and NDT to identify defects and ensure the integrity of materials and structures.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and sub-contractors in order to ensure statutory, regulatory and Client Requirements are met
  • Working alongside a team of Nuclear Quality Professionals (both QC) across multi-disciplined scope
  • confident and comfortable in the production and review of technical / quality documentation as well as possessing the necessary qualifications to conduct ‘in-the-field’, front line weld, NDT and mechanical inspection
Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, welding, and NDT.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain SC clearance.
