Expectations within the role: -
- Develop detailed piping designs and layouts using Autodesk Inventor.
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings of piping systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Perform calculations to determine pipe sizes, material selection, and flow rates.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and verify design accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design reports and as-built drawings.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during construction.
You will need: -
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in piping design, preferably in the nuclear industry (although other highly regulated industries will be considered).
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and other CAD software.
- Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, and API.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
