Mechanical Fitter - Heysham 2 Power station
About the role:
NRL are currently recruiting Mechanical Fitters to work on Heysham 2 power station for an industry leading client in the Nuclear Sector. Our client carries out maintenance on turbines and generators across EDF Nuclear Sites. Although the base location for this role is Heysham 2, travel to other nuclear sites in the UK may be required.
The ideal candidate for this role will have knowledge of steam turbines and generators, or have experience with power plant maintenance. The successful applicant will become a member of the Operations department, working closely with the engineering team and reporting to the Operations team leader.
Duties:
As Mechanical Fitter your duties will include the below:
Completing maintenance records in a timely manner.
Responsible for supporting the delivery of the work week plans and outage plans.
Support the effective delivery of KPI's continuously trying to improve & learn from the previous completed task.
To report safety, environmental and plant issues in a timely manner via the correct tools and Team Leader.
Actively acknowledge errors, seeking help when needed. Assuming responsibility for your decisions and actions.
Work as part of a team to drive performance improvement to industry best practice standards.
Your personal performance will maintain & reinforce high standards of nuclear professionalism.
Setting to work & pre job briefs & applying Human Performance tools.
Industrial Safety practices, including area risk assessments.
Ensure that all activities are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory
regulations company & local directions, procedures & safety rules.
Requirements:
Minimum requirements for this role are below:
Relevant Mechanical Qualification (NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds, Apprenticeship, HNC etc.)
Minimum 1 years’ experience with steam plant, rotating plant, or power plant maintenance
The successful applicant must undertake a counter terrorism check which includes a DBS check and references from previous 3 years employment.
Drug and alcohol tests are carried out on this site
Additional information:
Pay: Rates of pay start from £21.27 an hour up to £38.29 an hour.
Shifts: 37 hours a week. Option to work the hours over 4 or 5 days a week Monday to Friday
