About the Role:NRL is currently recruiting for a Joiner to work at Heysham 2 Power Station, a vital part of the UK's nuclear energy infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled joiners interested in a career within the nuclear industry, offering long-term stability and valuable experience on high-profile projects.
The role involves working on highly regulated and safety-critical infrastructure. As a result, you’ll need a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to health and safety. The ability to interpret and follow technical drawings is essential, as you’ll need to ensure precise execution of all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of fire doors in line with current fire safety standards.
- Completion of 2nd fix carpentry work, including detailed finishing tasks.
- Conducting minor woodwork repairs and adjustments.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings to complete tasks accurately.
- Ensuring a high standard of safety at all times in accordance with both company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaborating with other trades on-site to ensure seamless project delivery.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience in fire door installation and 2nd fix joinery is highly advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- A strong awareness and commitment to health and safety practices.
- A professional and proactive approach to completing work to a high standard and within set deadlines.
- Security Clearance: Due to the sensitive nature of the nuclear site, all candidates must undergo a Counter Terrorism Check (CTC). This includes a DBS check and the requirement to provide references covering the last three years of employment.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing: Routine drug and alcohol tests will be carried out regularly on-site to ensure a safe working environment.
