Main Duties and Responsibilities

In this position, you will ensure:

  • Safety, health and environmental (HSE) requirements meet the highest standards and are efficiently coordinated and implemented in accordance with legal requirements.

  • Defined, quality-related activities and services of the project are efficiently implemented on the construction site and thus the project-specific quality requirements are met.

In the field of occupational safety and environmental protection (HSE), these include:

  • Regular exchange with the construction site manager, the customer's health and safety coordinator and internal departments.

  • Ensure that the site organisation and subcontractors comply with the project's specifications and all local laws and regulations.

  • Participation in all meetings regarding occupational safety and the environment.

  • Support in the development and regular review of the construction site safety concept and safe working methods.

  • Risk assessments of activities on the construction site as well as in the definition and determination of countermeasures.

  • Carrying out construction site inspections.

  • Instruction of all persons entering the construction site in accordance with DGUV.

  • Regularly measure and report safety, health and environmental indicators.

  • Administration of reportable accidents and environmentally damaging events.

  • Continuous improvement by sharing your knowledge through training and regular coaching.

In the field of quality assurance (QA), this includes:

  • Regular communication with the site manager, the project management, the internal departments and document controllers as well as the customer's technical managers.

  • Ensure that the construction site organisation and the subcontractors comply with the specifications of the project in terms of quality.

  • Monitor test activities in accordance with the project quality plan.

  • Inspect the completed work and take any necessary corrective action.

  • Identification of non-compliant products, labeling, reporting, and, if necessary, their separate storage.

  • Participate in mitigating negative impacts on the project and developing and implementing solutions.

  • Support of the project team in customer complaints, their reporting Development of timely solutions.

  • Continuous improvement by sharing your knowledge through training and regular coaching.

Qualification:

To qualify for this position, you should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience and meet the following criteria:

  • Proven, relevant professional experience on construction sites of different sizes, complexity and contract types (preferably GIS/AIS high-voltage switchgear).

  • Expertise in legal regulations on occupational safety and environmental aspects at the construction site.

  • Very good knowledge in the preparation and evaluation of construction site safety concepts and risk assessments.

  • Very good knowledge of quality assurance and quality control.

  • Basic knowledge of the standards ISO9001 (quality management), ISO45001 (occupational safety) and ISO14001 (environment).

  • IT user skills (MS Office, document management).

  • You are efficient and have a high degree of professional, social and leadership skills.

  • You are able to identify and solve problems at an early stage, and work constructively to build positive customer and supplier relationships.

  • You convey your messages in a coherent and clear way and bring the assertiveness necessary for the task.

  • You will carry out the tasks assigned to you with a lot of initiative, flexibility and perseverance, while adhering to the client’s Code of Conduct at all times.

  • Even in challenging situations, you keep an overview, remain calm and act in a solution-oriented manner.

Training:

  • You have successfully completed specialist training in the field of civil engineering, electrical engineering / electronics or a degree in engineering with a specialisation in construction, process engineering, chemistry, safety technology or natural sciences.

  • First aider training is available (< 2 years)

  • Safety specialist according to § 7 ASiG is a plus.

  • Qualified electrician (EFK) according to DIN VDE 0105-100 and DIN VDE 1000-10 is a plus

  • Fire protection assistant training is a plus

  • Auditor training is a plus.

Languages:

  • Fluent in German, fluent in business

  • Fluent English is a plus
