On behalf of our client, NRL Recruitment are looking for a Graduate Materials Engineer for work in the Kingston Upon Thames area.


Key Responsibilities:

Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials for various oil and gas applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Failure Analysis: Conduct failure analysis investigations to determine the root cause of material failures and recommend corrective actions.

Corrosion Management: Support the development and implementation of corrosion management strategies to enhance the longevity and reliability of equipment.

Quality Control: Participate in quality control processes, including material testing, inspection, and certification to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Research & Development: Contribute to R&D projects aimed at improving material performance and developing new metallurgical solutions.

Technical Support: Provide technical support to engineering teams, project managers, and clients regarding metallurgical issues.

Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy from a top UK university

  • Good understanding of metallurgical principles and their application in the Oil & Gas industry.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in using metallurgical analysis tools and software.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of corrosion and failure analysis.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, NACE).

  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
