Overview:

Our client, an internationally recognised EPC business is currently recruiting for a Senior GIS Specialist to join their project delivery team in London on a 6 month contract basis. 

This role is part of a team delivering engineering services across a portfolio of oil and gas projects. We are looking for an experienced professional with a solid background in GIS and the application of GIS to Onshore Pipeline projects. 

Responsibilities:

Data management and manipulation.
Preparation of concept and detail design for onshore pipeline projects.
Production of GIS derived deliverables associated with onshore pipeline projects.
Provide technical support and assistance to project team.
Identify issues and problems and develop appropriate solutions.
Establish and maintain good working relationships within our client, with its Clients and other stakeholders.
 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related discipline.

·       Experience in the GIS industry.

·       Proven ability and experience in the use of geospatial techniques in relation to the extraction, analysis, interpretation and presentation of geospatial data utilising ESRI software (preferred). 

·       Proven ability to convert text-based data into geospatial data. 

·       Advanced Level of understanding and experience with geospatial issues and geospatial techniques to acquire and manage data.

·       Proven experience of applying GIS data within an Enterprise GIS environment.

·       A high-level understanding of Python, ability to utilise/extend existing scripts.

·       A strong understanding of various imagery formats, as well as practical experience in the management of large raster datasets, utilising ESRI’s Spatial Analyst tools to solve real-world problems.

·       Ability to read and interpret technical details (crossing designs, right of way set out, minimum bend radius etc.) associated with onshore pipelines and translate to GIS deliverables.

·       Familiarity with GIS based, automated drawing production (pipeline alignment sheet experience with BlueSky Lightning or New Century Software’s SheetCutter a bonus).

·       Proven ability to analyse, interpret and present geospatial data to meet client requirements. 

·       Proven ability in providing high quality, comprehensive client service and establishing effective working relationships to communicate, consult and negotiate with project teams through sound communication, teamwork and liaison skills.

·       Proven ability to competently perform a broad range of operational tasks associated with geospatial and administrative duties.

·       Demonstrated experience working independently and as a member of a team.

·       Knowledge of spatial and web development technologies highly regarded.

·       Demonstrated experience working in onshore pipeline projects.
