Functional Safety Engineer - Germany and Austria

 
Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our green hydrogen and biofuel projects. This position requires a deep understanding of functional safety standards and practices, as well as experience in the energy sector.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement functional safety concepts and solutions for green hydrogen and biofuel projects.
  • Conduct safety assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262) and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and project management, to integrate safety into all project phases.
  • Perform safety validation and verification activities, including safety audits and reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on safety-related issues.
  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, reports, and records.
  • Participate in safety-related training and development programs to stay current with industry best practices.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical) or a related field.
  • Proven experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in the energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262) and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Certification in functional safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) is a plus.
