Our client, a leading innovator in complex project delivery in the Energy, Nuclear, Defence and Security Industries, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to work on a Substation Replacement Project being delivered from Cumbria.
Position can be based at either West Cumbria, Warrington or Glasgow, must be flexible to travel between these locations to client hubs (1-2 times per month), this position can also allow some flexible working options / working from home.
The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, inclusive and diverse team that is rapidly growing and delivering state-of-the-art strategic and tactical support on highly acclaimed projects and programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects throughout the complete design phase of a major project, across a range of complex multi-discipline projects/environments, and the effective & supportive management of an integrated project design team.
- Leading teams throughout the EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) feasibility stage of the project.
- Deliver projects under CDM.
- Utilize advanced project management techniques across multi-functional organizations
- Use reporting tools covering estimating, scheduling, programming, reports and risk analysis & earned value tools
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships at all levels
- Wide range of experience in engineering management in a highly regulated & safety focused organization in the Nuclear Sector.
- Vast experience and knowledge in the delivery of major projects for construction with one or more specialist areas of engineering to include EC&I and/or CS&A.
- Proven track record in the successful leadership of engineering teams on major projects.
- Extensive experience in leading engineers and designers throughout the design phases of the project ensuring superb stakeholder relations are maintained to the highest standard.
- Skilled in problem solving with a questioning attitude who can appropriately challenge others with positive justification relating to technical solutions / decisions.
- Previous substation delivery experience would be advantageous.
- Strong EC&I Background preferred due to the project being at stage 1 feasibility together with a full appreciation of multi-discipline design interfaces.
- BIM knowledge preferred.
- Duty holder of CDM regulations, must have a thorough understanding of CDM regulations 2015.
- Skilled in Project Management principles and tools.
- Degree qualified and Chartered Engineer.
