Job Title: Electrical Control Of Work Authority / SAEP

Location: NG Hatton Site 


Overview:

Currently recruiting for an Electrical Control Of Work Authority / SAEP to join their project delivery team on a 6 month contract basis.

Daily coordination, management and issue & return of permits under the Projects Control of Works Procedure. Have demonstrable knowledge in Electrical Safety in a Commissioning environment.

Responsibilities

The Issuing Authority has the responsibility to manage the Control of Work Process across the commissioning phase of the project, whilst ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental and Technical Standards. Undertake scheduled and ad hoc safety/PTW audits and relevant inspections. Accountability across the project in ensuring that PTW is adhered and deployed to ensure safety throughout.

  • Responsible for the effective coordination, control, and implementation of the Control of Work system 

  • Assure the correct level of Risk Assessment has been carried out, taking part in risk assessments to ensure adequate safe controls are applied as part of the Control of Work process.

  • Ensure a work site visit has been carried out during the work planning phase Identify work site conflicts which may arise from a change in plant conditions and conflicting adjacent tasks (SIMOPS)

  • Manage and coordinate the LUN process with the site Electrical Team

  • Ensure good, safe understanding of the task accounting for key hazards & Control prior to permit issue.

  • Co-ordinate verification and approval of Isolation design, including LOTO implementation and removal control.

  • Coordinate a process of Sanction to Test through discussion with relevant discipline supervisor as part of the Control of Work process.

  • Confirm, through discussion with the Performing Authority that they fully understand the task and team members have been fully briefed via TBT. 

  • Confirm all required pre-requisites are in place prior to work commencing, and confirm associated safe controls have been applied i.e., LOTO. 

  • Visit the worksite before, during and on completion of the work to ensure the work is properly controlled, co-ordinate isolations, isolation integrity checks.

  • Co-ordinate Control of Works audits and action improvements in order to drive safety.

  • Co-ordination and control of keys and lock out boxes, co-ordinate control (LOTO) register. 

  • Adopt a flexible working attitude towards assisting all personnel involved with Control of Works process / Procedure.

  • Review schematics, red line drawings as part of the Isolation/energisation process

Qualifications:

Previous experience in CoW / Permit issuing

UK ISSOW Level 2 or equivalent / E CoW

Electrical Qualification

Microsoft Office Experience
