Job Title

Design Draughtsperson

Job Purpose

To create detailed technical drawings and plans for complex subsea / renewable equipment handling systems, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Drawings: Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Design Development: Assist in the development of conceptual designs and detailed engineering solutions.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation, including design specifications and reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. 
  • Support: Provide technical support during the manufacturing and installation phases.
Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of fabrication design engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Education: A degree or diploma in engineering, design, or a related field.
Desirable Attributes

  • Experience: Previous experience in subsea equipment design or a general fabrication related field.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with  2D & 3D CAD modelling using AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works or similar, Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
Additional Information

  • Location: Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with potential for occasional travel.
  • Working Hours: Full-time. 
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
