Our client is one of the largest contracting businesses in the UK, offering a broad scope of services including mechanical, electrical, high voltage, electrical vehicle (EV) infrastructure installation, test and inspection services, as well as street lighting.

NRL are currently recruiting for a Civils Foreperson to join them on a permanent basis.

Job Title: Civils Foreperson

Base Location: Slough, Southampton, or Poole to cover the Wessex region.

Salary: £40,660 plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing. 

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday – Friday 8am-4pm. Overtime available.

What will I be doing in this role? 

Working on a prestigious LV/EHV contract within the Wessex regions, the project consists of a full turnkey solution for design and build covering Reactive and Planned activities inclusive of design, planning, excavations, jointing and reinstatement. You will be assisting our client with all Faults and New connections up to 33Kv. 

Working in a 3-person team, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of civil engineering tasks, including excavation, laying of ducting, and cabling, reinstatement, and general civil works.

In a typical day, the team can expect to be.

  • Review setting to work documentation including utility prints.
  • Completion of Risk Assessments in advance of works to ensure relevant controls are in place.
  • Completing of site investigations for the identification of utilities in advance of excavation work
  • Excavation of grass verge, footway & road for the installation of duct or cables
  • Undertaking & Assisting with Traffic management procedures
  • Support our Electrical teams.
  • Complete reinstatement of surfaces such as concrete, tarmacadam, blocks.
What do I need to be successful in the role?

Ideally you will have experience working in a similar role, and you must be able to physically lift, dig and carry equipment and be comfortable working outdoors.

  • S.W.Q.R Supervisor or Operatives
  • SMSTS certified.
  • First Aid 3 year + AED
  • Electric CSCS Shea Power
  • Timber & Shuttering Supports Systems
  • Trailor and Towing License
  • CSCS Gold Card
  • Clean Driving License
