NRL are looking for Civil Engineers with Reinforced Concrete experience to work on a permanent basis in Bristol. This is working on the Hinkley Point C nuclear project with a large engineering consultancy. The role is based out of the office Aztec West, Bristol and you will be required to be in the office 3 days per week.


The Role:

We are seeking several Civil Engineers who can provide technical expertise to support the technical design and delivery of construction deliverables for the buildings of Hinkley Point C project. The successful role holder will have a working knowledge of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and reinforced concrete experience. Key responsibilities will be: 

  • Civil engineering design office experience

  • Manage the interface with the civil designers, providing them all the necessary inputs at the right time, following their progress and making sure the design is delivered on time

  • Contribute to a correct design configuration management: preparation of design changes and participation at design change committees

  • Support handover of Design Packages released for construction and initiated the delegated responsibilities through this process

  • Contribute to CDM reviews, create and maintain the Design Risk Register 

You will need:

  • Degree in civil or structural engineering subject, civil or structural Engineering

  • Working towards / Chartered Engineer with either ICE or IStructE

  • Must have experience working with Reinforced Concrete

  • Design process and design activities 

  • Working knowledge of design codes (e.g. Eurocode 2)

  • Design with hazard & accidental safety cases

  • Working within UK CDM regulations and in a highly regulated industry

  • Delivery-oriented and ability to set action plans and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Proactive, pragmatic and adopting a practical approach to resolve issues


You must be able to gain BPSS security clearance, so all candidates must have been in the UK for at least 3 years.
