NRL is excited to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Principal Designer – CDM Advisor to join a leading engineering team on a major infrastructure project based in Gloucester. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Take the lead in managing the Project Health & Safety File, engaging with key stakeholders to gather, organise, and maintain essential safety documentation.
- Support the creation and coordination of the Construction Phase Plan, ensuring all pre-construction details are accurately reflected.
- Organise and chair Principal Designer coordination meetings and workshops, driving communication and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
- Build and manage communication channels to deliver PD-related information to all relevant parties.
- Act as the link between CDM duty holders, the client, and contractors, ensuring regulatory risks are managed effectively and proactively.
- Review and validate risk assessments, method statements, and associated safety documentation.
- Ensure that all project stakeholders and supply chain partners meet CDM competency standards and maintain compliance throughout the project life cycle.
What You’ll Need:
- A NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and/or relevant H&S or Engineering qualifications.
- Demonstrable experience in CDM and Principal Designer roles, ideally within regulated environments such as Nuclear or Defence.
- Strong familiarity with construction site operations and the application of health and safety regulations at both design and implementation stages.
- Qualifications or training in HSE auditing, backed by hands-on experience.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.
- A degree in Engineering or similar is preferred, but not essential for the right experience.
