Our client, and internationally recognised engineering design consultancy requires an Automation Engineer for an initial 12 month contract.
The role has been deemed to be outside IR35 and is offering hybrid working with 3 days in the office.
Job Description:
The role involves collaborating with suppliers to design and oversee the delivery of an advanced Power Distribution Control System (PDCS).
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and revising PDCS functional specifications with suppliers.
Designing and revising Power Management System (PMS) functional specifications with suppliers.
Managing the procurement of the entire PDCS package.
Participating in the design and revision of network topologies for PDCS.
Conducting high-level risk assessments of networks based on IEC62443.
Overseeing the design of network infrastructure to ensure compliance with IED components.
Participating in FAT testing and verification of IEC61850 communication tests at the supplier’s site.
Managing interfaces with other disciplines, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
Developing commissioning procedures.
Experience Required:
At least 8 years of engineering experience in the design, configuration, testing, and support of network infrastructures, including configuring switches, firewalls, and servers.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in network design and/or cybersecurity, preferably in oil & gas EPC projects or industrial control systems.
Experience in designing and testing communication networks/protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, IEC61850, TCP/IP, Ethernet, OPC UA, etc.
Familiarity with IEC62443 and Equinor technical requirements TRs essential
Experience with PDCS/PMS functionality and specifications.
