Having supported projects in the North East for over 30 years, our team are no strangers to seeing how the region has grown and flourished during that time. Despite that, we were still awe-struck during a visit to the Teesworks site towards the end of 2024, seeing the massive projects currently in development as well as the size and scale of the site as a whole which over the next decades will only continue to expand. The ongoing regeneration works here signify a new chapter in the region's history, one filled with promise, growth, and opportunities for both the local economy and community.

Building Teesside’s future

The Teesworks site, with its rich industrial heritage, is undergoing a remarkable revitalisation thanks to continued investment and innovation. Formerly known as the iconic Redcar Steelworks, this vast area is being repurposed to accommodate a wide range of industries, from renewable energy and advanced manufacturing to logistics and offshore technologies. This strategic diversification not only ensures sustainability but also opens up a plethora of opportunities for local workers looking to upskill or transition into new sectors.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Teesworks development is the significant number of jobs being created on-site. Thousands of vacancies are set to become available across various disciplines, offering a wide range of career paths for individuals in the region. These employment opportunities are not only a testament to the economic resurgence of Teesside but also a lifeline for many local families and communities looking for stable and well-paying jobs.

We’re honoured to have already begun playing a part in providing the next generation of talent to this landmark site, with more world-class projects getting the green light as time goes on – like the announcement of the £4bn Net Zero Teesside project back in December – showing that there are plenty more opportunities still to come for those looking to make an impact in the area.

A project delivering more than just jobs

Moreover, the ripple effect of the continued investment in Teesside goes beyond job creation. The influx of new businesses, the establishment of training and education programs, and the enhancement of infrastructure all contribute to a more vibrant and sustainable local economy. As more companies choose to set up operations at Teesworks, the region becomes a hub of innovation and collaboration, attracting further investments and driving economic prosperity.

The Teesworks site is not only a beacon of hope for career seekers but also a catalyst for skills development and training. As new industries set up shop in the area, there is a growing demand for a skilled workforce. This presents a unique opportunity for local residents to gain new qualifications, access training programs, and embark on rewarding career pathways. The development of Teesworks is, therefore, nurturing a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth within the community.
