What we learnt after 1,000 Trustpilot reviews

We regularly invite candidates we place to review our service on Trustpilot, because it provides them with an independent, trusted platform to tell people what we think.

As a business we strive to always deliver the best service we can, so we’re extremely proud to be able to say that after receiving over 1,000 reviews 87% rated us 5-stars, and an overwhelming 96% 4 or 5-stars. It’s a reflection of the hard work our recruitment branches put into working with their candidates and clients, and a monthly highlight to read our progress reports and celebrate the best reviews.

We also dedicate the same amount of time though to focusing on the lower rated reviews. That’s because there’s always something we can learn from them, and we’re grateful that our candidates use the opportunity to tell us everything about their experience working with us, even if some of it is negative.

We don’t always get it right, and that’s ok (as long as we learn)

Recruitment is a busy industry; it’s fast paced and there’s always multiple jobs and projects our teams are working on. It takes someone with a lot of organisation to excel in recruitment, but even the best of us sometimes misses things.

We always aim to deliver a consistent service but when we don’t quite hit the mark, we’d certainly like to know about it so we can improve.

Communication sometimes falls down

There’s a great deal of communication involved in recruitment, managing interviews and onboarding candidates. When people opt to work in a temporary contracting position there may also be additional security clearance and site inductions that need to be completed.

Making sure everything is communicated in an effective and concise way is important, but it’s always a difficult balance to get the level and frequency of communication right.

When we receive feedback to say that there were gaps in communication, it’s really helpful to understand if we need to factor in more updates or whether we need to reassess the frequency of when we communicate during the recruitment process.

Regular reviews of your processes is crucial

Occasionally we’ll receive feedback that makes us think, “of course – we need to include this in our recruitment application process!” It triggers us to review the various stages, to ensure they provide a good candidate experience, that we’re not asking for more information than we need at each stage or missing out important information.

Make sure you reply to every review

We make a point of replying to every single review that our candidates leave. It’s important to us to acknowledge their feedback and thank them when they praise individual team members for the support they have provided.

There reviews are also a great way to check what we’re doing is still working – and that candidates are happy to recommend us to other people based on their experience. So, we thank everyone who has taken the time to leave us a review and look forward to celebrating our next Trustpilot milestone.
