NRL, a specialist technical and engineering recruitment business, has announced it has moved its Gosforth-based team to a new office in Blyth Workspace, joining the business community located on the Port of Blyth. NRL's relocation to Blyth forms part of the company's commitment to supporting regional growth and enhancing recruitment activity in both their North East of England and Norwegian operations.

Blyth, home to the world's longest subsea interconnector linking the UK and Norway, is also experiencing significant regeneration plans - making it an ideal location for NRL to expand its recruitment and workforce solutions presence.

By establishing a new regional branch in Blyth Workspace, NRL aims to accelerate local recruitment activity as well as grow its extensive Norwegian recruitment and mobilisation services - with their dedicated Norway recruitment team moving into the Blyth space. It also reflects NRL's continued international recruitment growth, which has seen them recognised by Staffing Industry Analysts as one of the top 20 largest global engineering staffing firms.

Emma Lowden, Regional Director of NRL, said,

"We are excited to be moving to Blyth Workspace, marking a significant step for our company as we continue to grow in the North East. We believe this relocation will enable us to offer a wider range of services to both our existing and future clients, whilst allowing us to extend the regional support already being delivered by our Sunderland and Teesside teams."

Discussing NRL’s Norwegian recruitment expertise, International Development Director Will Fossey added,

"Our team of specialists have supported Norwegian energy projects from their previous North East base for more than 35 years. Relocating to Blyth has a huge significance, thanks to the strong partnerships the town has with Norway.

It now means we can call many of our clients our neighbours, and we’re looking forward to meeting more local businesses and exploring how we can support them with their international growth plans.”

The new office reflects the NRL Group's continued focus on growing sustainability whilst reducing their carbon footprint. Moving away from leasing a dedicated building, to a base within the shared workspace as they continue to build on the 31.5% carbon footprint reduction seen to date, an achievement which has earned them a place on the Recruiter Award's Most Sustainable Recruitment Agency 2023 shortlist.

Opened in 2015, the Blyth Workspace building was carefully designed around energy efficiency. Including positioning windows to attract as much natural light as possible, installing 52 ground source heat pumps, and placing 100m2 of photovoltaic cells on the roof with the potential to generate 17kW from thermal energy.
