Technical engineering recruiters NRL have joined in partnership with SSE Enterprise Contracting E&I to secure skilled local contractors to deliver the electrical installation work on the new NCL1 fulfilment centre.
The logistics space, which is currently in development on Follingsby Park in Gateshead, will require a range of specialist skilled personnel, including Electricians, Electrical Improvers and Electricians’ mates across various stages of the build. Expected to take 5 months to complete, NRL are interested in speaking to any candidates who have previous experience working with conveyor systems to discuss opportunities to be part of the team constructing the fulfilment centre.
Discussing the opportunity for local people to secure work on this project, NRL’s Sunderland Branch Manager Emma Lowden said,
“We’re delighted to be supporting SSE with recruitment for contingent labour to deliver the electrical work packages on the NCL1 fulfilment centre project - knowing first-hand the high level of skills we hold across the region. Recruitment will commence in various stages to meet project deadlines on-site, so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to secure work over the coming months.”
Commenting on the project plans Tony Stirling, Project Engineer for SSE Enterprise Contracting E&I added,
“The electrical work packages are an important part of the fulfilment centre build, helping to ensure the facility can utilise advanced technology such as the latest robotics – and will potentially require up to 50 temporary electrical roles at peak. Working with NRL’s Sunderland Recruitment team means we’re able to secure work for as many local people as possible – with exciting plans in the pipeline to hopefully continue to provide great local opportunities like these in the future.”
