​Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineers work across a multitude of engineering sectors, but often specialise in one particular area such as piping, HVAC and mechanical handling. A Senior Mechanical Engineer must hold effective project implementation planning skills as a senior member of the team, as well as provide expert advice to stakeholders within the business and project teams. Typical work a Senior Mechanical Engineer will undertake includes carrying out surveys, producing calculations and computer-aided design drawings, working to relevant safety standards and international design codes.

A Senior Mechanical Engineer will usually hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline. Other technical qualifications may include MCIBSE, MIET or HNC/HND. Senior Mechanical Engineers may also hold Chartered Engineer status, or be working towards it.
