​A Principal Electrical Engineer is a specialist engineer who manages the electrical engineering projects for an engineering company. The role of a Principal Electrical Engineer is to manage the overall engineering processes and usually requires leading a group of engineers, technicians and support staff to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

To work as a Principal Electrical Engineer, you’ll need to have strong knowledge in the field of electrical design and power system analysis, as well as be proficient with multiple software applications. The Principal Electrical Engineer will perform a wide range of diverse engineering duties and responsibilities under minimal supervision. Proven industry experience and formal qualifications will be needed to secure a role working as a Principal Electrical Engineer.
