Job Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for managing the client relationship and delivering the project within the baseline targets to ensure the optimum financial result and client satisfaction.


Outline and Responsibilities:

  • Implement the management of projects in accordance with the Project Delivery Handbook and other associated QMS processes including, where applicable, the gate review lifecycle model.

  • Ensure an effective handover from the sales team is achieved, whereby the specification, budget and schedule baseline parameters are clearly identified along with the agreed project execution model.

  • Establish and maintain the project schedule using appropriate tools such as IFS or MSP.

  • Establish and maintain the project WBS/PBS and baseline budget in IFS. Ensure the baseline is current and the latest cost forecasts are tracked and represented.

  • Establish and maintain the project’s configuration management infrastructure both in TeamCenter (for technical documents) and SharePoint (for project documents).

  • Ensure effective document control both internally and externally to the company and ensure all important communications and document items are configured.

  • Establish the key project stakeholders and define an appropriate communications plan.

  • Establish, develop and manage the project team and any other key resources assigned to the project.

  • Establish and manage the client relationship including progress reporting, query resolution and management of change.

  • Ensure all contractual requirements are adhered to.

  • Deliver projects in line with the contractual obligations, the specification and the quality/safety requirements, in order to maintain or better the baseline budget and schedule.

  • Establish and manage the project’s internal reporting cycle including team reviews, cost tracking, schedule updates, financial forecasting, resource forecasting and management reporting.

  • Establish and manage the project’s external reporting cycle including Client Reviews, Client Progress Reports, Key Supplier Reviews and Key Supplier Progress Reports.

  • Identify, quantify, manage and mitigate all project issues and risks. Establish and maintain issue/risk logs as appropriate.

  • Build a cohesive and collaborative relationship with all other functions of the business (e.g. Construction, SCM, SHEQ, Commercial, Finance), with a focus of delivering on commitments in a timely manner.

  • Ensure projects are effectively closed down upon completion including analysis of the project result, documentation of the lessons learned, Client feedback obtained and handover activities defined and accepted.

  • Identify and progress future sales opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Represent the company at events, trade shows, conferences etc, as required.

  • Undertake national and international travel as required.

  • Provide support to sales proposals and bids.

  • Any other duties as directed by the Operations Manager or the General Manager.

  • This role may involve national and international travel.

About You:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively



Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Engineering/PM of complex design and build projects to clients globally.

  • As a minimum, educated to an Engineering Degree level.

  • Preference for Member/Fellow of recognised Engineering body (e.g. IMechE). Chartered Engineer

  • status or working towards it.

  • Qualifications/formal PM training such as PRINCE2 or APM.
