NRL are seeking Electrical Supervisors to join our client’s Maintenance team at St Fergus on a permanent basis

Purpose of Position:

  • Line Manager for a team of Electrical Disciplines, including Lighting, HVAC and Electrical.

  • Provide Electrical technical guidance in accordance with PX / site technical guidelines and contract documentation.

  • Responsible for work execution and standards. To supervise the execution of work in accordance with site Work Preparation Scheduling Execution (WPSE) process.

Primary Accountabilities: 

  • You will display the appropriate work standards and values required to execute the task in a safe controlled and efficient manner.

  • Work in a way that complements PX’s core values and minimum site standards.

  • Responsible for assuring HSE compliance within work execution.

  • Provide feedback to squad for progress, productivity and HSE performance.

  • Manage and implement all relevant QA/QC Procedures as instructed.

  • To lead, manage and support the performance of your team, ensuring that individuals are developed and empowered to make decisions, in order to deliver performance that is in line with work execution, volumes, standards, quality and safety.

  • Responsible for assuring the safe execution of all work at work face.

  • Review daily priorities within the constraints of the weekly integrated plan; proposed changes agreed with site managers.

  • Manage growth and change in the activities.

  • Responsible for assuring Electrical plant and equipment, materials and consumables are available and serviceable for conducting work.

  • Oversee execution of weekly planned activities.

  • Maintain appropriate break schedule to keep work going.

  • Ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available to allow completion of planned work.

  • Deputise for Site Managers

HSE Accountabilities: 

  • Tool Box Talks

  • Participate in risk assessments and dynamic work face assessments.

  • Perimetry raising

  • Creation of work packs and supporting documentation

  • Report any accidents and near misses no matter how minor or insignificant they are

  • Comply with Company Management System for Health and Safety Policy Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to site HSE expectations, implementation of BHS and participation in site HSE initiatives

Activities:

  • Conduct daily team briefing to squad

  • Daily / weekly activity reporting to PX coordinator / planner

  • Work site leadership presence 2-3 hours per day based on 8 hr. day: open work faces, planned work faces, employee engagement (HSE, productivity, progress feedback)

  • Provide HSE, productivity, progress feedback daily

  • Progress reporting to Site Manager

  • Time writing verification

  • Progress verification

  • Conduct Activity Completion Reviews with electrical team

  • Manage growth work scopes

  • Conduct Work Pack plan and management meetings

  • Forecast, order and control materials and consumables: audit weekly with Co-ordinator

  • Ensure team comply with allocated tea-break times, start/stop times

  • Ensure team comply with TBTs, perimetry, quality standards, working standards, HSE standards

  • Activity Completion Review

Qualifications:

  • Technical qualification with applicable electrical background - City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 / SJIB 

  • IET Wiring Regulations 18th edition

  • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989

  • Emergency First Aid

  • COMPEX EX01-EX04

  • Electrical Safety & Situational Awareness (preferred)

  • HV / LV Switching (preferred)

  • Relay Protection (preferred)

  • Supervisory experience preferred in a similar role
