Job Description:
Technical Coordinator  – North East

We are seeking Technical Coordinator to join a progressive housing developer in the North East supporting the Technical Department to manage all design related activities on a selection of up and coming projects.

Responsibilities:

  •  To ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy
  • Manage all design related meetings with regard to all projects under your management
  • Co-ordinate all design related and planning activities
  • Work closely with all planning related consultants to ensure planning is achieved in a timely manner
  • Co-ordinate the delivery / discharge of all planning conditions on all sites under your management
  • Ensure that the construction team have the information they require to deliver each scheme on time and within budget
  • Assess each project to appraise potential savings without having detrimental effect on quality and sales
  • To monitor / review the design & construction program and to implement actions required to ensure compliance
  • Actively communicate information and changes to other team members as necessary
  • Report project progress against design programme to senior management at agreed intervals, including the preparation of report
  • Seek feedback for the Construction team on live schemes to continually improve the pre-commencement process
What you will need:
  • Will have over 5 years’ experience in working within a design related role in the construction industry from £500k - £10m in value
  • Desirably have experience on commercial developments
  • Will have Degree, HND or Equivalent Qualification in Construction, Architectural, Civil Engineering or Building related subject
  • Has project and forward planning experience
  • Can look at issues from a customer perspective to arrive at the most suitable outcome
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to drive a team, internal and external, to achieve agreed goals and timescales
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the planning system
  • Is commercially aware and manages design on each project with cost, profitability and sales in mind
  • Represents the company in a positive manner
