Senior Quantity Surveyor – Stockton

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General: Extensive experience of working in a senior position on large civil engineering / infrastructure projects, including underground structures, foundations, piling and structural steelwork.
  • Management of procurement process for award of main sub-contract packages (civil, piling and structural steelwork), including drafting tender documentation, review of tenders and making recommendations on award of subcontract packages.
  • Ensure subcontracts are administered strictly in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and authorities, and reporting any issues arising to the Contracts Manager in a timely manner.
  • Preparing monthly cashflow forecasts.
  • Attend and input into progress meetings, providing commercial advice where required.
  • Management of variation account, including analysis and negotiation of changes.
  • Ensure that any relevant issues affecting Subcontract packages are proactively managed with under the requirements of the Main Contract.
  • Undertake remeasures off drawings and/ or on site as required to establish accurate forecasting and reporting on productivity.
  • Ensure focus on the Main Contract schedule and ensure options to achieve or better programme dates are explored and implemented where possible.
  • Reviewing and agreeing monthly payment applications and final accounts.
  • Communicate with all relevant parties to ensure consistency of understanding and approach.
  • Review and analysis of claims for additional payment, extensions of time and delay and disruption, including making settlement recommendations.
  • Drafting contractual correspondence.
  • Other commercial and contractual activities as determined from time to time by Contract Manager.
