Our client is a major global organisation with vast diversity in provision in Nuclear, Defence, Building & Infrastructure, Oil & Gas and Pharmaceutical.   A prestigious & highly successful company with a proven track record in the delivery of providing expertise in design, technical, engineering, professional and construction services. 

Seeking an experienced, professional & innovative Senior EC&I Engineer / Senior Designer to be a crucial member of the Nuclear Design Team located in Cumbria. 

Overview: To produce and lead design packages across the project design portfolio.

Key skills / attributes:

Educated to HNC or HND or Degree level combined with relevant experience.
Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Background.

Industry Background in the Nuclear Sector or any other highly regulated industry sectors.

Follow all regulations connecting to safety, operation, design and equipment including Nuclear Installations Act, Health & Safety at Work Act including Safety of Machinery, LOLER, EWR EDM, Pressure Systems, Ionising Radiation and DSEAR.

Knowledge & Capability in the following areas:-

  • Check and produce outline designs and documentation
  • Production of drawings to a high standard against project deliverables.
  • Working with and assisting the Responsible Engineer at design reviews
  • Mentor and guide apprentices, graduates and other team members
  • Familiar with principles of the ‘gated process’ within the Nuclear sector.
  • Design Tools Experience:  AutoCAD, MS Office, Cimage, Amtech etc

Excellent organisation, planning and communication skills are key to this role with the ability to liaise directly with clients and other project teams.Must be a driven forward thinking professional with an ability to problem solve to ensure robust deliveries are achieved.

Desired; BPSS and/or SC Clearance (if no clearance held must be willing & eligible to go through clearance process)
