Job Description:
NRL are currently supporting one of their globally-recognised engineering clients who require a Risk Manager for work in Würzburg, Germany on a permanent basis.

This role is for work on a multi-billion-euro underground cable link project and it will connect the wind-rich regions of northern Germany with the consumption centres in the southern part of the country. The measures will start in Schleswig-Holstein in Wilster and Brunsbüttel; the end points are Bergrheinfeld in Bavaria and Leingarten/Großgartach in Baden-Württemberg

About the role:

  • Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the program, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the program when risks occur
  • Performing a risk assessment: Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the program
  • Performing a risk evaluation: Evaluating the program’s handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the program such as costs and legal requirements
  • Establishing the level of risk the program are willing to take
  • Preparing risk management and insurance budgets
  • Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Educating the PMO about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks)
  • Explaining the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders
  • Creating business continuity plans to limit risks
  • Implementing health and safety measures, and purchasing insurance
  • Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Maintaining records of insurance policies and claims
  • Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals
  • Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company
What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Management or Business Science, Finance or Economics, Science, Statistics, Engineering, Law from college or university or equivalent experience
