This role, which has arisen due to increasing workload in the UK for its offshore projects under construction and in development, will be based in Swindon.
As the project progresses, there may also be some work required at contractor locations as business/project needs dictate. Some travel will be required with the role, both nationally and within western Europe.
Working initially in the pre-consenting phase of several projects in the UK and Ireland, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a robust through life design of the project’s electrical system, supporting on all aspects of the HV generation and transmission system up to the grid interface point. The projects are currently in the pre-FEED phase, and as such are focusing on establishing the consenting envelope and high level system design.
The role will form part of the project’s engineering capability, and will support the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities will be as directed by Engineering and Project Management and are expected to cover;
- Support the definition of the main electrical system design for the project, covering all aspects of onshore and offshore HV system
- Development of specifications for consultancy work, subsequent TQ clarifications and ensuring specification compliance with selected consultants
- A strong focus on interface topic, for example on the offshore platform(s)
- A strong focus on safety through design and through life performance of the assets.
