The skills gap is a growing concern within the engineering and technical sectors as graduates are falling short of the standards needed to replace the currently ageing workforce. Six out of ten engineering employers are concerned that the lack of engineers will threaten businesses in the UK. Employers are currently seeing a lack of practical, managerial and technical skills. With help from the government they are looking to increase training through local councils, schools and colleges in order to motivate future workforces and provide opportunities to build vital skills.
