  • Professional Apprentice of the Year nomination for Wigan recruitment branch hopeful

NRL Limited’s Wigan recruitment branch is celebrating a Professional Apprentice of the Year award nomination for one of their valued apprentices.

Jay Smallwood joined the team in September 2015 through Wigan & Leigh College’s Apprenticeship Scheme, and thanks to years of hard work and dedicated learning has been shortlisted for this prestigious award.

Each year Wigan & Leigh College recognise apprentices who have made a significant difference to their employers with their Apprentice Awards.

NRL Wigan Branch Director Greg Compton said:

“Since joining our business Jay has continued to excel in his role within our compliance and administration team whilst completing his level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

At our annual Christmas conference last year Jay was nominated by several colleagues across the business as an Unsung Hero receiving a highly commended award, so it’s fantastic to see his hard work being recognised by the wider business as well.

At NRL we recognise the many advantages apprenticeships provide to a business, so are proud to support apprentices across our branches and continue to benefit from this fresh talent.”

Award winners will be announced at a presentation evening held by Wigan & Leigh College on Thursday 8th March which coincides with National Apprenticeship Week 2018.
