  • NRL supports Samaritans Shoebox appeal

The Washington branch of NRL has jumped right into the Christmas spirit by supporting the 2015 Samaritans Shoebox appeal.

Washington have filled 11 shoe boxes packed full of school supplies, colouring books, toys, hygiene items and clothing and dropped them off at their local collection point.

Natalie Carson, Business Development Assistant, suggested the idea instead of the branch’s annual Christmas Jumper competition and the whole team where more than happy to support.  The team has created boxes for girls and boys for ranging from 2 – 14 years of age.

Operation Christmas child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project offering less fortunate children around the world the opportunity to have something to open on Christmas day. The team at Washington hope that their contribution helps spread the Christmas cheer to a few more homes this year.

If you would like to get involved in the Samaritans shoebox appeal you can visit their website for more information.
