Final Investment Decision for BP Azeri Central East
BP are set to make a decision on Azeri Central East EPC contract in Q1 2019. The project is currently in FEED stage with KBR and Socar. KBR Leatherhead are currently undergoing recruitment activity for the project which is said to include a new platform with around 48 production wells and tied back to an onshore terminal in Sangachal. Platform fabrication is in the bidding stage at present.
Wood awarded pre-FEED for Ruwais
Wood’s Reading offices have picked up a pre-FEED contract for ADNOC who plan to build a third refinery on the established Ruwais refinery complex. The new plan could take the Ruwais Refinery complex into a new status as the worlds largest refinery generating over 1.5 million bpd.
Subsea 7 continue support to BP with contract win
Subsea 7 have announced a substantial award to provide maintenance, construction, inspection and repair in a new 5-year framework agreement with BP. The programme is a continuation of an award from 2005 and will cover fields West of the Shetlands and the North Sea. Work is being carried out from their offices in Aberdeen.
Catcher Fabrication work awarded to Babcock International
BW Offshore has selected Babcock for a 4-year framework contract on the fabrication and modification works on the Catcher FPSO. Babcock will provide engineering, onshore fabrication and offshore modifications utilising their facilities in Rosyth. This follows the news earlier in February when Babcock announced 150 job losses at Rosyth dockyard.
Exxon and Qatar Petroleum make a major gas discovery
It was recently announced that Exxon and Qatar Petroleum have made a huge discovery. The Glaucus-1 well, located offshore from Cyprus made the discovery and estimates are projecting over 4 trillion cubic feet of recoverable resource.
Wood and KBR set to deliver Crux FEED
Wood and KBR have secured front-end design work on an offshore unmanned platform for Shell. The project will be based off the coast of Western Australia. This platform will be linked up with Prelude via a 160km pipeline. Wood are said to be delivering support from their offices in Kuala Lumpur with KBR PM team based in their offices in Perth.
EPC contract for Marjan awarded to McDermott International
McDermott announced that they have secured two new EPC projects from Saudi Aramco. Projects are focussed on the offshore sections of the Marjan field. Work is likely to be carried out at the Saudi office.
Technip FMC EPC award for Tortue FPSO
BP has selected Technip FMC for an EPC contract and FPSO vessel as part of the Greater Tortue Complex which is located across two blocks on either side of Mauritania and Senegal. The contract is said to be worth over half a billion dollars. The Paris based giant had earlier provided the FEED, bolstering their portfolio with BP with this successful award.
