The NRL Wigan branch is celebrating after being announced as a finalist in the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Wigan Business Awards 2014 for Business of the Year.
The Wigan Business Awards are designed to recognise business excellence across the borough and highlight the achievements and hard work of a diverse range of Wigan businesses.
The branch which specialises in the supply of technical and trades workers is hoping to be crowned Business of the Year 2014 at the ceremony which takes place on the 14th November 2014 at the DW Stadium in Wigan.
NRL opened their Wigan branch in 1997 originally to support the local nuclear industry and today they employ 21 staff locally with a turnover of £20.4m.
Karen Atherton, Divisional Manager at the Wigan branch commented:
“The Wigan branch works in such a niche industry that to be recognised and shortlisted for business of the year in the borough is a real achievement for us. Having been part of NRL for 14 years I have seen the branch grow and this first-hand experience has shown the importance of having a quality team for business expansion.”
Greg Compton, Director at the Wigan branch commented:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted at the awards for business of the year as we believe that the success of our business is a credit to the dedication and hard work of our staff and as a team we are immensely proud of our achievements.”
Nationally the picture for NRL is just as bright with the company on track to reach a turnover of over £170m this year trading from 12 offices across the UK and 1 office internationally in Cairo.
